Chicken Wings

What the fuck are we doing? I wept the other day thinking about what's going down in the middle east these days, and wondering what's going to be left for my children. And then realizing that the world will never ever have peace. It just won't happen, even if we somehow came up with magical, unlimited resources.
As human beings, we're just not built for it. The anger and hate that bubbles beneath the human condition is palpable sometimes, even in an act as simple as crossing the street or waiting in line.
But then you catch a child singing when nobody can hear, or watch a parade, or go swimming under a waterfall, and you think, well, maybe it'll turn out all right.
Then your two year old comes up and smashes your face with a door for no other reason than it happens to be there, and you remember, we're just not built for it. We just have to make the most of what we have when we're here, keep on passing on the positivity and hope for the best.
